Cookies

The name ‘cookie’ originally comes from the Dutch word ‘koekje’ meaning ‘little cake’. This has gradually evolved to the familiar term ‘cookie’. This has become a popular snack food all over the world, but especially in the USA where they were originally introduced by the early Dutch settlers.

‘American style’ cookies are now a major bakery category in many parts of the world although recipes, textures, and flavour preference can vary greatly from country to country and region to region.
